Equatorial Guinea
The recent history of Equatorial Guinea begins in 1996, year in which the American companies Mobil and United Meridian Corporation (UMC), from Houston, began the oil extraction in the golf of Guinea. The economic repercussions since then have thickened, specially, the coffers of the Prime Minister, Teodoro Obiang, their governing family and partners. Thanks to the income of petroleum this country has experienced rates of growth of 33% of the inner product in 3 years. Such amount of money (it is the third oil producer of Sub-Sahara Africa) do not improve life conditions for the population. Recently the Chinese investments have increased, encouraged by currencies generated by petroleum.
China Dalian is a Chinese holding of companies from Liaoning’s province, they are working in huge construction projects (bridges, airports, fuel tanks…) all around Equatorial Guinea.
